We Found a Farm

October 1, 2008 we close on 105 acres with a house and a barn near Menlo, Wa., on Hwy 6 between Raymond and Centralia.

I don’t have the photos, but here is the seller’s description of  the property:
Before you take the time to read this ad please take a close look at the top picture. This picture is not a picture of the view from the property. It is taken from the property looking at the property. The hill or mountain you see most prominent in the picture is part of the property. 

Now take a look at the contour map at the bottom of the page. As you can see almost all of the mountain is included with this property. Located in northern Pacific County 40 minutes west of I-5 exit 77 (Chehalis exit), then west on SR-6 in the Willapa Hills. 

The property is part of the Willapa Basin which covers almost 700,000 acres in southwest Washington. The Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Cedar and Sitka Spruce forests once had some of the most massive trees found anywhere on the planet. The basin is a major feeding and resting area for migrating birds and waterfowl. 

The property is minutes from the Willapa River Estuary which has over 100 miles of shoreline and is the most productive (and probably the most pristine) coastal ecosystem left in the Lower 48 states. 

The Willapa Tidal Flats make up one quarter of the best shell fish growing waters in the western US. Salmon, Lingcod, Sea Bass, Halibut, Steelhead, Crab and Clams are plentiful in the area, and a fish hatchery is located less than a mile from the property.
